It took Amtrak less than a day to sell out an Illinois train route that passes near where the Aug. 21 solar eclipse is expected to be at peak duration, The Chicago Tribune reported.
Amtrak’s Solar Eclipse Express, just announced last week, will go from Chicago to Carbondale in southern Illinois, the story said. An Amtrak spokesman told the newspaper the special train sold out in 22 hours.
“Each rider will receive eclipse viewing glasses,” the story said.
